Partnerships in the water sector

Utility partnerships in the water sector are collaborations between one or more German municipal water utilities and international water operators. At the core is a cooperative, peer-to-peer approach, where professionals from the participating companies regularly exchange ideas on relevant topics and learn from one another. The first utility partnerships in the water sector were established in January 2021.

The core idea is that potential for improving water and wastewater services lies within the operators themselves. Through the systematic exchange of experience, knowledge, and best practices, water operators are strengthened collectively and their performance sustainably enhanced. Utility partnerships typically work, for example, on reducing water losses, improving laboratory operations, or optimising chemical dosing.
