Virtual expert exchange: Waste sector

Date:
05.02.2026
Location:
Online
Target group:
Operator partnerships from the waste sector

From municipal green waste and agricultural residues to the productive use of brown algae in the Caribbean… Organic waste management is multifaceted and requires careful analysis of the specific local context.

Several operator partnerships are now addressing the issue of productive recycling of organic waste. Each partnership faces its own challenges and develops its own solutions. GIZ has also been supporting composting projects in various countries for many years, each with its own tailored approach.

For this reason, the Utility Platform is inviting participants to a virtual expert exchange meeting on 5 February 2026 (tbc), which will provide an opportunity to learn from each other, gain new insights and share best practices.

We cordially invite all participants from operator partnerships in the waste sector to take part in this exchange.

This event will begin with a keynote speech by a GIZ composting expert. Afterwards, you will have the opportunity to discuss best practices and challenges in supporting composting initiatives in partner countries with participants from all partnerships and projects.

We will provide more information about the programme in the coming weeks.

Please register now to participate in the virtual expert exchange event with Friederike Barthe-Carpentier (friederike.barthe-carpentier@giz.de) so that we can better plan the event.

The exchange will take place in English.
