The project
The partnership between Pervomaiskvodokanal and Stadtwerke Augsburg aims to improve the drinking water supply in the Ukrainian city of Pervomaisk in the long term and to eliminate technical bottlenecks in the infrastructure.
A key problem in Pervomaisk is the severely outdated condition of the centrifugal pumps in the waterworks. Most of the pumping equipment was manufactured in the Soviet era and has already exceeded its technical service life. This repeatedly leads to significant interruptions in the drinking water supply to the population.
In view of the current challenges in Ukraine, Pervomaiskvodokanal faces the task of making its systems more resilient, improving technical solutions and developing sustainable operating strategies. In this context, the proposed partnership with Stadtwerke Augsburg is a valuable opportunity to develop innovative and technically advanced solutions for drinking water supply.
Work packages of the partnership
Particularly in the current situation, in which public services in frontline communities are under serious threat, the technical rehabilitation of critical infrastructure is becoming increasingly urgent. The aim of the cooperation is therefore to introduce modern and efficient technologies for water supply in Pervomaisk. This includes:
- Replacement of outdated centrifugal pumps with energy-efficient and high-performance models to ensure a reliable water supply.
- Increased operational safety through the introduction of modern monitoring and control systems to detect and prevent failures at an early stage.
These measures are intended to secure the drinking water supply in Pervomaiskin the long term and make it more resilient to external influences. Stadtwerke Augsburg is contributing its extensive experience in water supply to this project. In addition to providing technical support, the solidarity partnership will focus primarily on the procurement of necessary goods.
