With the Utility Platform for strengthening partnerships of municipal utilities worldwide, we want to create the conditions for the sustainable establishment of operator partnerships as an instrument of state development cooperation. To achieve this goal, we are addressing a broad target group and raising awareness of an approach that is new to many, which we are communicating in an understandable and accessible way.
There is a particular focus on municipal companies that would like to get involved in development cooperation or are looking for suitable opportunities to do so. We are constantly on the lookout for new partners who are interested in entering into an operator partnership with an international company.
The explanatory video clearly illustrates the approach taken by operator partnerships in the water, wastewater and waste sectors. It shows how knowledge transfer and peer-to-peer learning between municipal companies work and how our project contributes to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The video also presents the support services offered by GIZ on the Utility Platform.
